Company History

McGlynn Bakeries began as a single bakery in Minneapolis. It grew to be a company that served customers all across the United States, Canada, and Mexico. James T. McGlynn, nicknamed JT, started the company in 1919. McGlynn Bakeries used unbleached flour in their products and JT added calcium and vitamin supplements to his bread and rolls in the 1930's.

In 1995 a division was named Concept 2 Bakers®. It was a fast growing frozen business producing high quality Artisian bread and cookies for retail bakeries and food service customers across America. Concept 2 Bakers products are all produced in Minneapolis.

In 2004 Concept 2 Bakers (C2B) was acquired by Ralcorp Holdings, Inc of St. Louis, Missouri. C2B continues to be a leading manufacturer of high quality artisian breads/rolls and upscale sandwich bread. The bread facility is certified organic by Quality Assurance International and certified kosher by the Blue Ribbon Rabbinical Organization. C2B artisian breads, also known
as Panne Provincio, can be found in your local In-Store
Baker which includes grocery stores, superstores
and club centers.

In 2007 Ralcorp introduced a new look for Panne
Provincio, with a new logo and packaging. In
addition, a new product line has been added
including a variety of all natural artisian
breads.
